News on Tuesday morning that Newcastle United are watching Aaron Hickey.
Despite only turning 17 this summer, the defender is a regular now for Hearts.
He has already made 16 first team appearances and indeed made three of those as a 16 year old, including playing the full 90 minutes of the Scottish FA Cup Final in May, Hearts taking the lead but eventually losing 2-1 to Celtic.
The young defender can play in both full-back positions and not surprisingly is attracting attention from a number of clubs, not just Newcastle.
Hearts getting a 1-1 draw with leaders Rangers and Aaron Hickey turning in another impressive 90 minutes. Manchester City have also been credited with interest.
Crystal Palace were also reported to have been at Tynecastle to watch Alfredo Morelos, the 23 year old Colombian having now made 61 league starts and scoring 38 goals, including the equaliser on Sunday.
Whether Newcastle were also having a look at the striker is unknown but with a feeble five Premier League goals, they desperately need to find some more from somebody/somewhere.
There has been renewed speculation that Dwight Gayle could potentially be sold in January as he is yet to start a game this season, which could potentially free up some money to bring a goalscorer in.
Newcastle of course also have the option of going down the loan route, with still two options to bring in Premier League players on loan in January, as well as of course from abroad.
