More tests for injured Simmons
Ben Simmons is expected to miss the Philadelphia 76ers' next three NBA games after new tests confirmed the extent of his shoulder injury.
The 76ers play at Denver Nuggets on Friday and return to Philadelphia to host Charlotte Hornets on Sunday and Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday.
Simmons suffered a grade one AC joint sprain in his right shoulder in Wednesday's 106-104 loss to Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City.
He was expected to miss the Denver game but Yahoo News reported on Thursday the Australian All-Star will also likely be forced out of the Charlotte and Cleveland home games.
The injury occurred in the first quarter when Simmons attempted to drive past Utah power forward Royce O'Neale.
Simmons's right shoulder hit Neale's chest and the 23-year-old immediately winced in pain.
The 76ers were the hottest team in the NBA when they won their first five games but they lost to Phoenix Suns on Monday and then to the Jazz to be 5-2 early in the 82-game regular season.
