“He got to train with me a little bit so you can imagine the trauma I put him through.”

According to ‘BMF’ champ Jorge Masvidal, top-three UFC welterweight Colby Covington is a traumatised individual.

Speaking to Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole in a recent interview (h/t BJPenn.com), ‘Gamebred’ said he inflicted trauma on ‘Chaos’ during their training sessions at American Top Team (ATT) and said the former UFC interim welterweight champ is nothing more than an attention seeker.

“He can’t generate attention by himself so he has to mention your name, this guy’s name, that guy’s name, ‘all these guys are on steroids,’ there’s no proof, no validation to what he’s saying,” Masvidal said of Covington. “That’s just the type of person he is so once he opened his mouth, I’m not going to keep mine shut.

“The guy has his wires crossed, especially when it comes to me. He got to train with me a little bit so you can imagine the trauma I put him through.”

Speaking of the upcoming welterweight title bout between Covington and Kamaru Usman (C) at UFC 245, Masvidal said his accomplishments in the last year alone far surpass what Covington and Usman have been able to achieve throughout their entire career(s).

“I got into this sport to separate myself from the pack and beat the crap out of guys,” he said. “Those guys don’t do it.

“What I did this year, I got three stoppages. They haven’t done that their whole career.

“This is math speaking, this is not opinion. You can look it up. What I’ve done this year, they haven’t done their whole careers.”

UFC 245, which is expected to feature Usman vs. Covington as the main event, takes place later this month, Dec. 14 at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. Rather than fight the winner, Masvidal would prefer a money fight against Nick Diaz or Conor McGregor,
