Titans targeting Brisbane Broncos star
The Gold Coast Titans have officially expressed interest in Brisbane Broncos star David Fifita.
The Courier-Mail reports the Titans have contacted Fifita's manager Steve Deacon in hopes of securing a meeting.
The Titans are known to have much more salary cap flexibility than the Broncos, with a four-year $3.2 million deal potentially on offer for the forward according to the report.
However, the Broncos remain confident of retaining Fifita and are expected to offer only a one or two-year deal with the prospect of upgrading the contract later on.
Fifita admitted the game is a business, unsure of what his future will hold beyond 2021.
"I'm not too sure what I'm going to do to be honest," Fifita told The Courier-Mail.
"I'm happy at the Broncos.
"(But) It's a business at the end of the day … you know how it works."
The 19-year-old debuted for the Broncos in 2018 and has played 35 first grade games so far.
Fifita made his Origin debut for Queensland last year and also represented Australia at the World Nines tournament late last year.
